
Associate Professor Lena Lejmanoski
Dr Lejmanoski is a dentist who has worked in both public and private sectors with many years of extensive general practice experience. This includes the management of medically compromised patients. She has participated on surveying teams for the Australian Council of Health Care standards and has been an examiner for the Australian Dental Council.
Dr Lejmanoski has contributed to dental teaching for over 20 years. In her former role as an Associate Professor with UWA's Dental School,she coordinated and taught the final year dental students from 2002 until 2009. She had many developmental achievements including introducing community service into the final year curriculum.
Her UWA based Awards/Commendations received include:
- the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry Teaching & Learning Awards Excellence in Clinical Teaching Award
- the Oral Health Centre of Western Australia Service Excellence Award
- the KJG Sutherland Prize for best speaker/presentation for Dental Study Group of WA
- the inaugural UWA Student Guild Students’ Choice Award
- nominee (twice) for the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry & Health Sciences Excellence in Teaching Award
She has held executive positions for dental societies and groups including:
- State Chair of the Oral Health Committee of the Australian Dental Association WA
- Federal Chair of the Oral Health Committee of the Australian Dental Association WA
- President of the Dental Study Group of WA
- Secretary/Treasurer of the Dental Study Group of WA
- President of the Australian Prosthodontic Society WA
- President of the Sally Joyston-Bechal Study Group
- Treasurer, International Association for Dental Research (WA)
- President of the University Continuing Dental Education Committee
She has served on dental committees including:
- convenor for the University Continuing Dental Education Committee
- advisory committee, ADA Continuing Professional Development Committee and Course Convener
- Councillor, Australian Dental Association WA
- Dental societies/groups
Associate Professor Lejmanoski has been acknowledged for her services to dentistry and education with fellowships in the Pierre Fauchard Academy and the International College of Dentists.
