Professor Marina Wallace is a Consultant Colorectal Surgeon at Perth's Fiona Stanley and Fremantle Hospitals.  Prior to becoming a Consultant Colorectal Surgeon in 2001 in the UK she completed her specialist training at St Mark’s Hospital for Colorectal Diseases in London and was successful in gaining a Master's degree looking at chemoprevention in Familial Adenomatous Polyposis, sponsored by the National Institute of Health of USA and the ICRF in London, with the research undertaken at St Mark’s Hospital.

Marina emigrated to Australia in 2007 to take up an academic post at UWA and as a Consultant Colorectal at Fremantle Hospital. She was one of the first colorectal surgeons to operate at Fiona Stanley Hospital before it fully opened in 2015.

Marina is a fully trained laparoscopic surgeon who specialises in the management of complex colorectal conditions including both malignant and benign disease. She has a special interest in family cancer syndromes and runs one of two multidisciplinary clinics for patients with inherited bowel conditions in Western Australia. She is the lead colorectal clinician at FSH and also the chair of the colorectal cancer MDT.
