How to find CTEC

The CTEC building is adjacent to the Department of Anatomy and Human Biology at The University of Western Australia.  CTEC is located inside Entrance No. 2 off Hackett Drive (at the roundabout).  It is the first building on your left as you enter.

During the week, pay per hour parking is available on Hackett Drive, or on Campus utilising Yellow Bays.  Both locations use the Easy Park App.  Coin and PayPass payments are accepted at some locations.

On weekends, free parking is available in the Red Staff and Yellow parking bays. Please note White Reserved bays are reserved at all times and parking in these bays will incur a fine.

Travelling to CTEC by Bus

The 950 bus runs from the Perth CBD, Esplanade Busport, to UWA every 2 minutes during peak times.  The journey will take about 10 minutes and participant can then walk along the river or through the UWA campus to the CTEC building.

The Free Purple CAT Bus Route

The free Purple CAT Bus Route travels between the Elizabeth Quay Bus Station and UWA.  The Purple CAT service circles UWA via Hackett Drive (CTEC is located adjacent to Entrance No 2 Hackett Drive) and Broadway.

The Purple CAT operates every day of the week including public holidays, at the following times:

Monday to Friday

  • Every 10 minutes during the day
  • Every 15 minutes during the evening
  • Every 30 minutes later at night.

Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays

  • Every 15 minutes during the day
  • Every 30 minutes at night.

The Purple CAT departs from Elizabeth Quay Bus Station.

With the launch of the Purple CAT, all Perth CAT services will no longer automatically stop at all stops. If you wish to catch a CAT bus you will need to hail the bus from the bus stop. If you wish to get off the bus you will need to ring the bell. Perth CAT buses now operate in the same way as a regular bus service.

While the Purple CAT is a free service, passengers still have access to a range of other Transperth services to and from the CBD, which will not cost you anything additional if you are transferring services.

For further assistance or to plan your journey call the Transperth InfoLine on 13 62 13 (TIS: 13 14 50) Hearing or speech impaired? Call via NRS 133 677.
