This workshop aims to create an educational environment in which consultant surgeons and senior trainees are encouraged to exchange ideas and information pertaining to the latest advances in upper GI and bariatric surgery. It is offered on a biennial basis, with the next workshop planned for 2019. Please register interest in this workshop below.
There has been a significant increase in the utilisation of procedures such as sleeve gastrectomy in the primary setting as well as for salvage from complications of gastric banding. This has resulted in an increased need for subspecialist upper GI and bariatric surgeons to consider bypass procedures more often.
The workshop will use a combination of pre-reading, didactic sessions, discussion and practical skill stations using fresh human cadaver material.
