The Core Skills: ENT Facial Plastic Surgery Workshop will provide ENT and Plastic Surgery trainees with increased operative experience and the opportunity to consolidate knowledge and skills in a range of techniques in facial plastic surgery.

Suitable for: RACS Surgical Trainees, Fellows and Junior Consultants in ENT and Plastic Surgery. Limited Observer positions and free of charge assistant Theatre Nurse positions are also available.

About

This hands-on cadaveric workshop will reinforce knowledge of anatomy and provides the opportunity to practise a range of facial plastic procedures not commonly performed by trainees in clinical practice. Hands-on dissection and pairing of participants of similar skill levels enables discussion and group learning. under expert supervision.

The workshop sessions are fully interactive with a high ratio of knowledgeable faculty to participants.  Faculty provide superior training and immediate feedback in a practical and controlled workshop environment. Limited  positions are available for Observer, and for Theatre Nurses in the role of assistant.

This workshop immediately follows on from the complementary Core Skills: ENT Sinus Surgery Workshop the day prior. Participants are welcome to register for both workshops.

Workshop Content

Demonstration and Practical Cadaveric Sessions

The workshop will feature a comprehensive highly practical full-day program.  It features  procedural demonstrations by expert faculty utilising the latest 3D visualisation technology, followed by extensive cadaveric practical sessions focusing on the following procedures: 

  • Otoplasty - anatomy and assessment. Mustarde`suturing and anterior scoring
  • Conchal cartilage harvest
  • Rhinoplasty
  • Blepharoplasty – upper and lower, lateral canthoplasty
  • Facelifts and endobrow lift
  • Free practical session allowing practise of workshop program procedure/s of choice

  • Fresh frozen human cadaveric dissection

Non-WA Participant: $1280
Observer: $175
Theatre Nurse: Free of charge
