Core Skills: Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery

CTEC’s Core Skills: Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery is a cadaveric and animal tissue workshop aimed at providing Service Registrars, Junior SET Trainees in General Surgery and Junior GSET Trainees with greater knowledge and increased skills in techniques in anastomosis and laparoscopic colorectal surgery.

Suitable for: Service Registrars, Junior SET Trainees in General Surgery and Junior GSET Trainees. It is recommended participants have laparoscopic and suturing experience. This workshop is not suitable for Junior Doctors below the level of Service Registrar.

Available (doctor)
Thursday, 24 August 2023

This workshop is designed as a progression from CTEC’s Core Skills: Introduction to Laparoscopic Surgery Workshop, and is most suitable for past participants of that workshop or similar laparoscopic surgery workshops. It is highly recommended for participants to have laparoscopic and suturing experience, and as such the workshop is not suitable for junior doctors below the level of Service Registrar.

This workshop aims to provide participants the opportunity to enhance their knowledge of more complex procedures in colorectal surgery, consolidated by practical  benchtop and cadaveric sessions in laparoscopic colorectal surgical techniques and procedures.

This educational activity will provide experience in procedures that participants may have received little exposure to in the clinical setting.
