The Laparoscopic Anatomy of Complications Workshop is aimed at refreshing anatomical knowledge and teaching techniques for the safe identification of the structures of the pelvic sidewall including the ureter and techniques for the safe repair of the bladder and bowel. This is not a basic skills workshop and a reasonably advanced level of laparoscopic skill and knowledge is assumed, including skills in laparoscopic suturing and knot tying.
About
This two-day workshop is the second of two iterations of ACW workshops offered at CTEC. It focuses on laparoscopic procedures in obstetric and gynaecological surgery. Previous participation the first and complementary open Anatomy of Complications Workshop is a prerequisite for this workshop.
Both workshops provide an intensive and hands-on learning experience and aim to improve the performance of specialist obstetricians and gynaecologists in the prevention and management of complications in obstetric and gynaecological surgery.
Participants work in trios and pairs allocated by and under the guidance of a high ratio of expert faculty. All participants rotate through six different groupings in order to maximise interaction and to allow for the different skill and speed of participants.
